Bummers Re-enactment

Nov. 13-15, 2009 at Molena , GA

Three members of the 78th PVI, Co. F made the long trip to Georgia to take part in this 145th anniversary re-enactment of Sherman ’s March to the Sea.  The objective was simple: forage for food from the civilian residences while trying to avoid capture or ambush from the Georgia militia and Wheeler’s Confederate cavalry forces.  All of the foraging parties were from the 15th Corps and our party represented the 116th Illinois Infantry.  For more, read the Event Report.
